4. DATA COLLECTION ON THIS WEBSITE
COOKIES AND LOCAL STORAGE
Our websites may use so-called “cookies”. Cookies are small text files and do not cause any damage to your device. They are stored either temporarily for the duration of a session (session cookies) or permanently (permanent cookies) on your device. Session cookies are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. Permanent cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them yourself or until they are automatically deleted by your web browser.
We currently do not set cookies on this website for analytics, advertising or payment purposes. There is no online shop and no payment processing. The inquiry cart is not a shopping cart: selected products and quantities are assigned to your user account on the server after you log in.
Technically necessary storage may be required for the operation of the website, in particular:
- where applicable, a cookie or comparable storage for the selected language (German/English);
- storage of your login status in your browser’s local storage (localStorage) so that you can remain logged in. An access token as well as the name and e-mail address of your account are stored. This data remains on your device until you log out or delete the storage in your browser.
The legal basis for technically necessary cookies or comparable storage is Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest in a functioning website) or, where the storage is necessary for the account use you have requested, Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR.
You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and allow cookies only in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general, and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when the browser is closed. If cookies are deactivated, the functionality of this website may be limited.
COOKIE CONSENT WITH CCM19
This website uses the consent tool CCM19 to obtain and document your consent to the storage of certain cookies and to the loading of certain embeddings (currently in particular Google Maps). The provider is Papoo Software & Media GmbH, Auguststr. 4, 53229 Bonn, Germany.
CCM19 stores your choice (consent or refusal) and the technical data required for this. Processing is carried out in order to obtain the consents required by law (Art. 6 (1) lit. c GDPR in conjunction with Section 25 (1) TDDDG). Where required, a data processing agreement is in place with the provider.
Non-essential analytics or marketing cookies are currently not set. Google Maps on the contact page is loaded only after your consent; details can be found in the section “Google Maps”.
You may withdraw consent already given at any time with effect for the future via the CCM19 banner or the withdrawal option offered there.
SERVER LOG FILES
The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:
browser type and browser version
operating system used
referrer URL
host name of the accessing computer
time of the server request
IP address
This data is not merged with other data sources.
This data is collected on the basis of Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and optimisation of its website – server log files must be recorded for this purpose.
REGISTRATION AND USER ACCOUNT
You can create a user account on this website. During registration we collect your name, e-mail address and a password. The password is stored in encrypted form and is not displayed or disclosed in plain text.
For registration, login by verification code and password reset, we send a time-limited code to the e-mail address you have provided. The code is stored only for a short period and is deleted after use or expiry.
The user account is used to operate the inquiry cart, submit product enquiries and download files in the download area. These functions cannot be used without an account.
Processing is based on Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR (performance of the requested use or pre-contractual measures) and, where necessary, Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest in a secure login process).
We store account data for as long as your account exists. You may request deletion of your account at the address given in the Impressum. Statutory retention obligations (e.g. for enquiries already submitted) remain unaffected. We may disable an account if this is necessary for security or to prevent misuse.
CONTACT FORM
If you send us enquiries via the contact form, your details from the enquiry form, including the contact data you provide there, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the enquiry and in case of follow-up questions. The contact form may include name, e-mail address, subject, telephone number and message.
Before submission we obtain your consent to the storage and purpose-bound processing of this data. You may withdraw this consent at any time with effect for the future.
Processing is based on your consent (Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR). Insofar as your enquiry is aimed at concluding or initiating a contract, it is additionally based on Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR. Otherwise there may be a legitimate interest in processing your enquiry (Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR).
The data is stored in our system and additionally transmitted to us by e-mail for processing. We do not pass this data on to uninvolved third parties without your consent.
The data you enter in the contact form remains with us until you request us to erase it, withdraw your consent to storage, or the purpose for data storage no longer applies (e.g. after your enquiry has been fully processed). Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular retention periods – remain unaffected.
INQUIRY CART AND PRODUCT ENQUIRIES
You can add products to an inquiry cart or submit a direct enquiry for a single product. The inquiry cart is not a shopping cart and does not create a purchase contract. No prices are calculated and no payments are accepted.
A user account is required for these functions. In the inquiry cart we store the selected products and quantities in association with your account.
When you submit an enquiry we collect name, e-mail address, optional telephone number and message, as well as the requested products (name/model) and quantities. The enquiry is stored by us and transmitted to us by e-mail so that we can contact you and prepare an offer.
Processing is based on Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR (pre-contractual measures at your request) and Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest in processing business enquiries).
We store enquiry data until the purpose of processing no longer applies or you request us to erase it. Statutory retention periods remain unaffected.
DOWNLOADS
In the download area, logged-in users can download provided files (e.g. PDF catalogues). Login is required to enable the download and to prevent misuse.
Technical log data (see server log files) may be generated during a download. There is no further analysis of download behaviour for advertising purposes.
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR (provision of the file you requested) and Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest in protecting the files provided).
ENQUIRIES BY E-MAIL, TELEPHONE OR FAX
If you contact us by e-mail, telephone or fax, your enquiry including all resulting personal data (name, enquiry) will be stored and processed by us for the purpose of handling your request. We do not pass this data on without your consent.
This data is processed on the basis of Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR if your enquiry is related to the performance of a contract or is necessary for pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective handling of enquiries addressed to us (Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR) or on your consent (Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR) if this has been requested.
The data you send to us via contact enquiries remains with us until you request us to erase it, withdraw your consent to storage, or the purpose for data storage no longer applies (e.g. after your request has been fully processed). Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular statutory retention periods – remain unaffected.
E-MAIL DISPATCH
To send verification codes and to forward contact and product enquiries to us, we use an e-mail dispatch service. In this process, the data required in each case (in particular e-mail address and message content) is transmitted to the dispatch service.
Processing is based on Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR insofar as dispatch is necessary to provide the account or to process your enquiry; otherwise it is based on Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR. Where required by law, a data processing agreement is in place with the dispatch service provider.
5. PLUGINS AND TOOLS
GOOGLE MAPS
A Google Maps map excerpt is embedded via iframe on the contact page. The provider is Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
If you consent to the embedding, a connection to Google’s servers is established. Google may in particular process your IP address and the information that you have accessed our contact page. This information is generally also transferred to Google servers in the USA. The operator of this site has no influence over this data transfer.
Google Maps is used in the interest of an appealing presentation of our location and easy findability of the address given in the Impressum. The map is loaded only after you have given consent via the CCM19 banner (or the overlay on the map). The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR in conjunction with Section 25 (1) TDDDG. Consent may be withdrawn at any time.
Further information on how user data is handled can be found in Google’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en.
LINKS TO SOCIAL NETWORKS
Links to social networks (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube) may be provided in the footer. These are simple links, not embedded social media plugins or videos. Therefore, no data is automatically transmitted to these providers merely by visiting our website.
Only when you click such a link do you reach the offering of the respective provider. From that point, the privacy notices of the respective provider apply. We have no influence over the data processing there.
